- DO NOT EAT OR DRINK ANYTHING INCLUDING WATER EIGHT (8) HOURS BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT! Please note: If you take medications such as Ozempic (Semaglutide), Wegovy, Mounjaro (Tirzepatide), etc. for weight loss and/or Type 2 Diabetes: DO NOT EAT OR DRINK ANYTHING INCLUDING WATER 12 HOURS BEFORE SURGERY.
- If you develop a cold, upper respiratory infection, or fever up to 2-weeks prior to your appointment, call us to reschedule ASAP. If you arrive for your appointment sick, we will reschedule you.
- Unless otherwise directed, take your routine medications without interruption, with no more than a teaspoon of plain water only.
- Your escort must be a responsible adult (18 years or older) with a cell phone & must arrive to the clinic with you on time, stay in the clinic lobby during the entire procedure, and drive you home. An ideal support person is one who can tolerate discussions of postoperative care, i.e., monitoring postoperative bleeding along with changing gauze according to provided instructions. Please do not use public transportation. Information about your condition and medications may be shared with this person. A responsible adult should be with you for 24 hours following surgery.
- No smoking 24 hours before surgery. Ideally, cut down or stop smoking as soon as possible prior to the day of surgery. Also, please refrain from drinking alcohol and recreational drug use 24 hours prior to your surgery.
- Please wear a loose-fitting short sleeve shirt (preferably NOT a light color & NO tank tops), comfortable pants (such as sweatpants, pajama pants) and walking shoes (NO heels). Do not wear contact lenses to your appointment; bring your reading glasses.
- No acrylic nails or dark nail polish. No false eyelashes including eyelash extensions, magnetic eyelashes, etc.
- Please Check in 10 mins before your appointment.
- If you are prescribed an inhaler, please bring it with you to your surgery appointment.
- We do not allow recording or photos of any kind in the surgery rooms. Please be sure that your escort is aware that they will not be allowed to record your procedure and/or recovery.
- Plan for your post-operative care by purchasing cool soft foods, ice and warm packs, Ibuprofen and Tylenol (if you tolerate these) and prepare for possible days off from school or work.
- Do not drive or engage in any activity that requires alertness for 24 hours following surgery.
